Who we are

Elite Catering Equipment Services Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 15523462). Registered office: Kates Cabin Stores, Great North Road, Chesterton, Peterborough PE7 3UD.

This site

These pages are a trade desk and catalogue for used commercial catering equipment. They are aimed at restaurants, hotels, production kitchens and other trade buyers — not house kitchens and not children.

A listing or chat on this site is an enquiry. It is not a completed purchase. A sale is only made when we accept an order in writing.

What we collect

You can browse listings without giving a name. If you use the trade desk, enquire, call, or ask us to email a match list, we may hold:

• Name, business, phone, email, and what you are looking for (machine type, size, site power, listing ref).
• Messages you type or dictate, and chips you tap.
• Short microphone recordings when you use dictation, processed only to put words in the message box.
• The page you were on, listing refs you opened, and whether you asked us to remember the brief.
• Technical data: IP address, browser, device, and approximate location from our analytics tools.

We do not ask for card numbers on this site. Payment, if you buy, is arranged off this page by invoice or another method we agree with you.

Why we use it

• To answer an enquiry and quote or reserve a machine (contract / steps before a contract).
• To tell the buying team a trade buyer is waiting — email, SMS, or a staff browser alert (legitimate interests in running the desk).
• To email a match list when you ask for one (your request).
• To remember a brief only if you say we may save it (consent, which you can withdraw).
• To keep the site working and understand which campaign pages are used (legitimate interests; Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, as on elite-ces.co.uk).
• To meet a legal duty if one applies (for example tax or a court order).

We do not sell your details. We do not automatically add you to a newsletter because you asked for a quote. Marketing email or SMS only goes out if you have asked for it, and every such message will say how to stop.

Dictation

The microphone is optional. If you tap it, your browser may use on-device or browser speech, or we send short audio slices to a speech-to-text provider so the words appear in the box. You still press Send yourself. We do not keep a voice archive on this site. Do not dictate payment card numbers or other people’s private data.

Who we share it with

We share what we must to run the desk:

• Our buying and sales team at Elite CES.
• Hosting, email, analytics, and speech-to-text providers that process data on our instructions.
• A delivery firm, installer, or engineer only if a sale goes ahead and they need the site address.
• A professional adviser or authority if the law requires it.

Some providers are outside the UK. Where that happens we use a lawful transfer tool (for example the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK addendum to the EU standard clauses) or an adequacy decision.

Cookies and similar tools

This site uses cookies and similar technology that the pages need to load, plus Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager so we can see which trade pages are used. We may also set a small preference if you ask us to remember a brief on this browser.

You can block cookies in your browser. The listings and phone number will still work. Analytics and “remember this” may not.

How long we keep it

Enquiry and trade-desk notes are kept while we are dealing with you, then for as long as we need them for the sale, warranty, or a legal claim — usually up to six years for a completed trade contract. If you only browsed, analytics data follows the retention set in our Google Analytics property. Dictation audio is not stored as a recording library.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to some uses, and to move it where the law allows. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. These rights are not absolute — we may need to keep a record of a sale.

Children

This site is for trade buyers. We do not seek data from children. If you think a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
